Oregon Tour de Outback (“Tour de Outback,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a cycling event presented by the Lake County Chamber of Commerce, a 501(c)(6) organization, with proceeds benefiting Lake County Search and Rescue. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through www.tourdeoregon.com and our related services, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our site, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Account information — when you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and (if you sign in with a provider) your profile photo.
- Registration information — when you register for the event (or have registered in past years), we keep your name, email address, phone number, and the year(s) you participated, so we can show your registration history and any returning-rider benefits in your account.
- Donation information — donation amount, frequency (one-time or monthly), and billing details. Card details are entered directly into our payment processor and are not stored on our servers (see Payments below).
- Communications — messages you send us through our on-site chat, contact forms, or email, and newsletter sign-ups.
Information collected automatically: device and browser type, IP address, pages visited, and similar usage data, collected through cookies and analytics tools.
Information from third parties: if you sign in using Google (or, in the future, other providers), that provider shares basic profile information such as your name, email, and photo.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Process and manage your donations, including recurring gifts.
- Create and maintain your account and show your giving history.
- Respond to your questions and provide support through our chat and email.
- Send you event updates and, with your consent, our newsletter (you can unsubscribe anytime).
- Operate, secure, and improve our site, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Payments
Donations are processed by Stripe. When you donate, your payment card information is transmitted directly to Stripe and handled under Stripe’s security and privacy practices; we receive confirmation and limited details (such as amount, date, and the last four digits of your card) but never your full card number. Please review Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
4. Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions (such as keeping you signed in) and to understand how the site is used. We use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to measure traffic and improve the site, and Google reCAPTCHA to protect forms from abuse (subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms). You can control cookies through your browser settings.

6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers above to run our services, when required by law, to protect our rights or safety, or in connection with a merger or transfer of the organization’s assets.
7. Data Retention
